The book’s only scholarly flaw is Seves’ failure to caption the illustrations they are usually explained in the adjacent text, but you have to look hard for it. Slight rubbing and slight wear at lower spine, otherwise very good. Among the illustrations are three consecutive pages from his celebrated Sweeter Gwen, a retake of John Willie’s classic Sweet Gwendoline. including 4 previously unpublished photographs of the artist. Copiously illustrated in colour and black and white throughout. The biographical introduction has been expanded to include much new information about J.W. Along with the black and white illustrations are an equal number of full-color pages many of which are previously unpublished. Also included in this expanded edition are 36 black and white reproductions of drawings and paintings (circa 1935-50), most from original artwork and all but 2 have never been published before. Includes a wealth of previously unpublished and uncollected work by the artist. One of 500 numbered copies this being #12. Overall a Very Good copy of this scarce publication. Hardcover with illustrated boards, and housed in the publishers grey cloth slipcase, together with a folder featuring the limitation statement and a CD titled John Willie Speaks - John Willie Sings!? Light shelfwear to the slipcase top front corner of the book is slightly bumped.
